INCIDENT: Tusil Fire

AFFECTED AREA: Southeast San Diego County

AFFECTED COMMUNITIES: Areas around Campo

As of 8:30am, Wednesday morning, the fire was mainly burning just west of Crestwood Rd. Smoke generation from the Tusil fire significantly decreased overnight but may increase again as winds begin to pick up during the day. Winds are expected to be light in the morning and blowing from the east to northeast. Afternoon winds will be moderate, with some light gusts and blowing from the west.

In areas of heavy smoke near the fire, assume that air quality levels are unhealthy for sensitive groups to unhealthy for all individuals.  In areas with minor smoke impacts, assume that air quality levels range from moderate to unhealthy for sensitive groups.

If you are near the affected communities and smell smoke it is advised that you limit physical/outdoor activity.  If possible, stay indoors to limit your exposure to fine particulate matter and ozone, especially those residents with respiratory or heart disease, the elderly, and children
